PROPILENGLICOL USP

Propylene glycol for food use, concentrated pure and pure, dilutable product.

Description

PROPYLENGLYCOL USP is a high purity product that helps ensure the desired quality and performance in food, beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and other various low toxicity applications. Propylene Glycol USP is an excellent solvent for many water insoluble organic chemicals. It is a clear, colourless, slightly viscous liquid, totally miscible with water. Since Propylene Glycol USP exhibits so many different properties, it has become the preferred product of the cosmetic, food, and pharmaceutical industries. The low toxicity of Propylene Glycol USP is unique among glycols and allows its use as a direct additive in foods and drugs.

Application

Solvent for aromas in the concentrated flavourings industry. Wetting agent for natural resins. Solvent for elixirs and pharmaceutical preparations that have some water soluble ingredients. Low temperature heat transfer medium, for cooling systems in breweries, dairy and wine industries as well as for other refrigeration equipment that have cooling coils in direct contact with food or beverages. In aqueous solution, it has excellent antifreeze properties. Solvent for printing inks. Solvent and coupling agent for many other applications.
