Kamco: Leader in Descaling and Recirculation Pumps for Closed Circuits

Kamco was founded in 1984 as a manufacturer specialising in maintenance solutions for hydraulic and thermal installations. In 1986 it developed its first Scalebreaker descaling pump, designed for the controlled removal of limescale and corrosive deposits in closed circuits. In 1992 it introduced the first truly portable power flushing pump with built-in flow reversal, technology that made it possible to apply hydraulic cleaning to heating networks without dismantling and with a greater capacity to remove sludge and magnetite.

Since 2012, all descaling and power flushing pumps, as well as their accessories, have been designed, assembled and tested at the production headquarters in St Albans, United Kingdom. Kamco maintains a predominantly British manufacturing process: only motors and neodymium magnets are received as external raw materials; the rest of the main components are manufactured under the brand’s own specification and licence by UK industrial suppliers. This integration allows total control over quality, hydraulic testing and certification of each unit.

The company’s international growth has taken its equipment to more than forty countries, with strategic distribution agreements that provide technical support and product availability in key markets. In early 2024, Kamco became part of a private investor group with the aim of expanding its innovation capacity, strengthening research applied to flushing and consolidating its global presence.

The company’s technical mission focuses on the efficient maintenance of hydronic systems through flushing and descaling carried out with a professional methodology. Correctly flushing a circuit’s hydraulics increases heat exchange, reduces strain on pumps and boilers, lowers energy consumption and helps reduce CO₂ emissions through lower fuel use.

Kamco continues to develop technologies aimed at protecting closed systems, with the goal of optimising thermal performance and extending the service life of heating components.
