Kamco was founded in 1984 as a manufacturer specializing in maintenance solutions for hydraulic and thermal installations. In 1986, it developed its first Scalebreaker descaling pump, designed for the controlled removal of limescale and corrosive deposits in closed-loop systems. In 1992, it introduced the first truly portable power flushing pump with built-in flow reversal — a technology that made it possible to perform hydraulic cleaning on heating networks without dismantling and with greater capacity to remove sludge and magnetite.

Since 2012, all descaling and power flushing pumps, as well as their accessories, have been designed, assembled and tested at the company’s production headquarters in St Albans, United Kingdom. Kamco maintains a predominantly British manufacturing process: only the motors and neodymium magnets are sourced externally; all other main components are manufactured to the brand’s own specifications and under license by UK industrial suppliers. This integration provides full control over quality, hydraulic testing and the certification of every unit.

The company’s international expansion has brought its equipment to more than forty countries, supported by strategic distribution agreements that ensure technical support and product availability in key markets. In early 2024, Kamco became part of a private investment group with the goal of expanding innovation capacity, strengthening research applied to flushing, and consolidating its global presence.

The company’s technical mission focuses on the efficient maintenance of hydronic systems through flushing and professional descaling methodology. Proper hydraulic cleaning of a circuit increases thermal exchange, reduces stress on pumps and boilers, lowers energy consumption, and contributes to CO₂ emission reduction through decreased fuel use.
